Research:

Our research is mainly focused on dietary determinants of prevalent chronic diseases including obesity,metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and cancers. We are also focusing on the comparison of different statistical methods to find the useful and meaningful strategies to derive dietary patterns (food and nutrient patterns) in association with chronic diseases especially when the sample size is low.  Since main food items consumed by Iraniansmight be different according tothe region they live, we are trying to design and validate different food frequency questionnaires in Yazd province.

We are also conducting some interventional investigations about the possible beneficial effects of different foods or diets on appetite or disease status in people with chronic diseases.
